Black Body Calibration Sources From Nagman Instruments

The Black body calibrators are used in most industries for monitoring the calibration of the infrared temperature sensor. The Calibrators consider a heated or cooled target object whose temperature will be accurately known and it will act as the base for providing the accurate infrared pyrometers. A Black body calibrators are excellent radiators that emit thermal energy in a visible or infrared form with intensity at a given wavelength and temperature. The black body calibrator sources can effectively absorb and release extremely non-reflective radiations and it has an emissivity value of 1.

When compared to other material that is available in the market, the black body calibration source makes a true perfect blackbody. Few Black body calibrators show an emissivity less than 1 but when they are designed properly, they can be bought closer to 1.  The emissivity of the blackbody is matched to the emissivity of the sensor by adjusting it. The black bodies are used lightning, thermal imaging, heating also for testing and measurement purposes. The Plank Law of radiation is used to provide the intensity of the energy at all the temperature and wavelength. For calibrating and testing the radiation thermometers, we use either a blackbody radiation source with temperature known or whose temperature needs to be measured.

Nagman is trusted for its quality and service by many industries. We provide a broad variety of Black body calibration sources. They are considered exemplary for calibration in the room or laboratory where a stable temperature takes up the Calibrator performances. For different temperatures, we have BBSL, BBSM, BBSH, BBSD and for specifically measuring low and medium temperature we use BBSD. Get in touch with us, if you have any further questions about black body calibrators. Please do contact Nagman and we are always glad to provide you the best service with the quality according to the need of your industry.

How to Calibrate Temperature Sensors?

Temperature sensors are critical components in various industries, ensuring precise measurements for optimal performance. Calibrating these sensors is essential to maintain accuracy, and three primary methods are employed for this purpose. Each method offers distinct advantages and limitations, affecting the reliability of temperature readings. This article will delve deeper into these methods and analyse their pros and cons to understand temperature sensor calibration comprehensively. Three Major Strategies for Calibrating Temperature Sensors Calibrating with a Temperature Simulator Calibrating temperature sensors using a temperature simulator remains a rapid and efficient approach. A temperature simulator accepts an input temperature and generates corresponding electrical signals, such as voltage or resistance, based on established national standards. Let's explore further the benefits and drawbacks of this method. Pros Speed and Efficiency: The use of a temperature simulator ...

What are Dry Block Calibrators & How it is Used?

In all industries, temperature is the most monitored factor. Particularly in the process industry, precise temperature measurements are crucial for the smooth operation of all processes. And for that, we need temperature calibrators. A temperature calibrator is any tool that can be used to check if temperature data from measuring equipment are reliable. They can also be used to check if temperature device readings fall within the accuracy and error tolerances that have been set.  Many different temperature calibrators exist, ranging from a portable instrument for lab calibrations to a robust dry block temperature calibrator, and they serve specific calibration purposes. Today, we will walk you through dry block calibrators - what they mean and why they are used for temperature calibration! What are Dry Block Calibrators? Dry block temperature calibrators come with metal inserts with holes bored into them for mounting temperature sensors. These holes range in size, and the met...

Pyrometers: The Ultimate Guide to Non-Contact Temperature Measurement

Pyrometers   are advanced non-contact temperature measuring instruments that detect thermal radiation emitted by an object and convert it into temperature readings. These instruments are fast, accurate, and ideal for high-heat industrial processes. In this blog, we’ll explore what pyrometers are, how they work, their types, advantages, and applications. What is a Pyrometer? A pyrometer is a temperature measuring device that calculates the surface temperature of an object without touching it. It detects infrared (IR) radiation emitted by the object and translates it into a temperature reading based on the object’s emissivity and radiation intensity. This method of non-contact temperature measurement makes pyrometers particularly valuable in scenarios where: The object is too hot to touch The object is moving or rotating The environment is hazardous Continuous real-time monitoring is required How Do Pyrometers Work? All objects above absolute zero emit infrared radiation. The amount ...
